I thought the MBE portion of the exam was awful. Like the previous MBE, it picked one obscure area of the law, and harped on it with several questions. Mortgages, leases, and property-related contract questions have been de rigour, although who knows if those areas are graded.

Fortunately, I thought the Florida portion of the exam was fair. It was an equal number of straightforward questions, and questions with an interesting twist. The essay questions were rapid-fire issue spotters (too many issues to dissect completely, of course). The multiple choice was expected topics, but moderately difficult questions. Overall, it seems like the Florida portion was a good balance to the horrific MBE section. Not easy, but not out to get you more than necessary to produce a good lawyer.

That being said, I don’t know know how they grade either portion, so the jury’s still out…

I didn’t know about this website until about 2 weeks prior to the July 2015 bar exam. I read your predictions and saw the criminal law and procedure prediction and thought it was odd because my bar prep company (Kaplan) had said it wouldn’t be on there because it hadn’t been tested in so long. I know the subjects well, but after looking at your website, something kept gnawing at me to study it again, especially homicide. Guess you guys had an 8 ball lol. Thank for the tip and I hope I can report on Monday that I passed.

    • Hi Jerry,

Wow! Thank you! We are very glad you found our website in time for the July 2015 exam, and that you followed your gut regarding criminal law and procedure. We truly hope you see the words “Pass/Pass” on Monday!!! If you have time, please let us know how you fared on the exam, even if it is just a matter of using our Contact Form. Again though, thank you kindly for your comment and best regards to you! :-)

Re July 2015 FL Bar Exam Results (MBE): On the contrary, I did not find that the July 2015 MBE was terribly difficult. Having taken the February 2015 MBE, my reaction was that the July exam was not nearly as difficult as the February exam. For one thing, it was a balanced exam. For another, all of the questions actually had plausible answers listed among the choices. I think applicants should be happy that the NCBE worked hard to craft and calibrate a balanced, reasonable exam this time around - which is not an easy feat just one session after adding an extra subject.
