July 2017 Pass/Fail Rate: Despite the seemingly difficulty of the July 2017 Florida Bar Exam subject matter, the overall passing percentage for first-time test takers was quite impressive — 71.3 percent. Compare this to the February 2017 Florida Bar Exam overall pass rate for first-time test takers and you will see a drastic difference — 57.7 percent. …
CONGRATULATIONS to all those who passed! May you go out there and conquer your goals and dreams (in a professional and ethical manner, of course :)). To the 28.7 percent who failed, we hope the very best for you on the next exam. For your sake, do not give up! We have seen people fail the exam on several occasions, only to end up passing in the end. There is hope! Rest, regroup, and try to understand where you need improvement.
Posted September 16, 2017 Update Following Hurricane Irma: According to the Florida Board of Bar Examiners, the July 2017 Florida Bar Exam results are still anticipated to be released on Monday, September 18, 2017.
Posted August 14, 2017 Pass/Fail Release Date: The July 2017 Florida Bar Exam pass/fail results are expected to be released on or about Monday, September 18, 2017. The results will be available on the Florida Supreme Court’s website. Original notice of the results will be posted via the Court’s Twitter feed and Facebook page. On that same day, the Florida Board of Bar Examiners will mail applicants their official results.
What Subjects were on the July 2017 FL Bar Exam?
Tentative—Multiple-Choice Subjects: (1) FL Rules of Civil and Criminal Procedure; (2) Business Entities; and (3) Wills & Admin of Estates. Essay Subjects: (1) Family Law and Dependency; (2) Federal Constitutional Law / Ethics; (3) UCC 3 Negotiable Instruments / UCC 9 Secured Transactions. How Easy or Difficult was the July 2017 FL Bar Exam?
According to the applicants who personally communicated with us, and those who partook in our July 2017 Questionnaire, it sounds as though the exam was quite challenging. As for Part A of the exam, when asked how easy or difficult the exam was on a scale from 1 to 10 (with 1 being the easiest and 10 being the most difficult), 90 percent of the applicants gave an average score of 8. Ten percent of the applicants gave an average score of 7. All responding applicants stated that they felt prepared for the exam. Nevertheless, as we said at the outset, it sounds as though the July 2017 Florida Bar Exam was more difficult than the prior July exams. It will be interesting to see the overall pass/fail percentages once they are released in September.
